Abstract

The text is comprised of letters written in 1936 by Marianne Angermann in Madrid to her mother, Charlotte, in Dresden. They record Marianne's experiences in the opening months of the Spanish Civil War when she worked first at Madrid University (Institute of Medical Research) and, later, at Military Hospital No. 6, Madrid-Chamartín.
